Waves lapping the sand
And the gentle breeze blowing
My heart lay content
The sun warmed my cheeks
I gazed at the deep blue sea
Emerged in pure joy
The tide is rising
Beneath the cloudless blue sky
I run to the sea.
Haiku is a type of poem which originated from the Japanese. It has a special format of only 17 syllables and originally a 5-7-5 pattern. Along with the modern times, this pattern evolved into several combinations.
