The Beach (Haiku)

Waves lapping the sand
And the gentle breeze blowing
My heart lay content

The sun warmed my cheeks
I gazed at the deep blue sea
Emerged in pure joy

The tide is rising
Beneath the cloudless blue sky
I run to the sea.

Haiku is a type of poem which originated from the Japanese. It has a special format of only 17 syllables and originally a 5-7-5 pattern. Along with the modern times, this pattern evolved into several combinations.

Writing a haiku never crossed my mind until it was given as an assignment to one of our students in the tutorial center. It looks intersting so I tried my hand in writing one. Well, its actually three but on the same topic. It is in the original format of 5-7-5 pattern. The topic I chose is the beach for the obvious reason that I love it!

New Beginnings

This is one of those many times in my life where changes have to be made. After a while of going through, doing, being, having... change has to be made. Especially when it is not working for me anymore and is sucking the blood out of me.

I have decided to move on from friendster blog to here. This move is timely since I am also undergoing a major overhaul. Well, I've learned that certain things cannot be done or changed at will. Timing is always essential. At any rate, I'm just happy that I still have time. And, I still have the luxury of starting anew and of making things right again. Right now, new beginnings just excite me because there is so much hope. Hope for the best to come! Cheers!
